Pennard Hill Farm Wedding Venue Somerset | Ben & Georgia

Pennard Hill Farm Wedding

Pennard Hill Farm Wedding Photography, Somerset

The summer of 2022 will be a summer to remember for sure. It was an absolutely wild year of weddings, many of which were postponed from the events of 2020. Ben & Georgia completely changed the whole course of their wedding day & ended up creating their own wedding at Pennard Hill Farm, overlooking Glastonbury. We had been in contact with Ben & Georgia for some time now & during our catch up call before the wedding, Georgia filled us in on what they had been up too & we were super excited for what was to come. When a bride tells us that their first dance is going to be based on rounds of boxing, playing different songs from all the years they had been together, its hard not to get excited right?!

How did you guys meet?

We met just after Ben got back from living in china in 2016. He was this new mysterious man that was in our friendship group. It was always us two left up till 4am dancing together in local pubs, landlords used to just leave us to it.

When did you guys start planning your wedding?

We used the time wisely in 2020

How long did it take you to find your perfect wedding venue?

1x failed attempt, our original wedding venue went bust in 2020 so we went on the hunt again in 2021. Coming from 2 huge families, Ben being one of 9 and me being one of 5 it was essential we found somewhere we could host and accommodate everyone- we wanted a venue from the Friday till the Monday.  Everything happens for a reason because Pennard Hill Farm was beyond perfect for us.

Tell us about your ceremony & your wedding reception

Our ceremony was by the lovely Gill at Heart and feather ceremonies. Our ceremony was a humanist ceremony looking over the beautiful backdrop of glasto. our cresent moon backdrop was by @my.little.posy/foreverflorals.

What was your favourite part of planning your wedding?

Putting all the wording together with Ben and Gill for the cermony, it was just so intimate.

Do you have any regrets or things you wish you knew before planning a wedding?

To put a days aside in the month dedicated to it. rather than doing bits everyday. it got far too overwhelming. especially as we did absolutely every bit of planning ourselves. As our venue was DIY. We did also have date nights and vowed not to mention the wedding and just be us for the night, as it does consume you as couple.

Looking back on your wedding now, what was the most memorable moments?

Our couples photos as it was time together and also that we said the same thing in our vows and laughed together.

What were some of the best decisions you made when planning your wedding day?

To sit together on our own rather than having a top table and having a humanist ceremony.

If you had any advice for future bride & grooms, what would that be?

Do what you want to do and don't listen to anyone else. i.e. parents. It's your day not theirs.
